TACKLING HOMELESSNESS
Tacking Homelessness
Guernsey is facing a homelessness crisis, with a shortage of emergency housing and a lack of clear pathways out of homelessness. Last year, the States found there are 1,000 islanders without secure housing, this includes those:
Sleeping rough;
Living out of their cars;
Sofa surfing; or
Living in abusive relationships.
In a small island with a handful of billionaires and an economy valued at £3.5 billion GDP, homelessness should not exist.

(Earlier this year I took part in the Big Skipton Sleep Out to raise money for Caritas and get a better understanding of what sleeping rough is.)
I, along with Forward Guernsey am committed to ending homelessness. We support:
Partnering with local charities.
Making housing a statutory right.
Providing emergency housing.
Committing to the elimination of the social housing waiting list.
Acting on the Homelessness Delivery and Implementation Plan
